Richard Decker
artist
From the moment I received my first set of crayons, I couldn’t resist the urge to scribble on anything I could find. By the time I reached high school, those spontaneous marks transformed into recognizable forms.
My artistic journey continued as I explored various mediums, including pen and ink, charcoal, pencil, watercolor, acrylics, and oils. I even dabbled in pottery, throwing a few clay pots, and indulged in sculpting.
However, it was in August of 1996 that I painted the first piece I had always dreamed of creating. It was a turning point for me—painting with such freedom and liberation that it changed the way I approached my art. Ever since that moment, I have painted with this same sense of creative freedom, allowing my art to speak without constraints.
Now, at the age of 71, I’ve made the decision to share my works with the world. In my gallery, you will find 72 pieces that reflect my lifelong passion for art.
I highly recommend printing my works on acrylic, as the vibrancy and brilliance of the colors are truly brought to life in that medium. I invite you to browse through my gallery and immerse yourself in the experience.
